Monday Me-Time

I wanted this post to be Motivational Mondays but it’s 2020, let’s not get carried away. How are you doing? What’s been going on in your life? Yes, I’m talking to you! What is it about Mondays? Is it simply just the start of the “work week” or something more? Is it that Mondays signal the beginning of thinking about everyone else’s problems except yours?

If you’re were having the worst week ever then you might welcome the distraction but what if you are just tired? What if you want to catch up on some sleep and get some much-needed rest? If that is the case, then Mondays bring a sense of dread but it doesn’t have to stay that way!

I’m introducing Monday Me-Time! This is where you will decide on what you can do for yourself on Mondays! How does it work? Well, I’m glad you asked!

Reclaim your Mondays!

Start your Monday off right by picking something that you enjoy doing or that makes you feel relaxed. It could be a nice warm bubble bath or reading a good book? Maybe you like arts and crafts or playing video games? Or is it working out or taking a nap?

Once you’ve picked what you enjoy doing, how much time can you give yourself to enjoy it? Is 30 minutes enough for you to watch another episode of your favorite TV show? Or maybe a 45 min yoga session online? Once you’ve worked out how long your “me-time” is, at what time will you engage in your “me-time?” For example, is your Monday “me-time” a run at 6:00 AM in the morning (God Bless the hearts of the early risers!) or your Zoom yoga class at 5:00 PM? Once you’ve scheduled your Monday Me-Time, the last step is to follow through and do it!

Let’s Recap: Monday Me-Time 3 keys to success!

  1. Decide on something that you enjoy doing or that makes you feel relaxed.
  2. Figure out how much time you can REALISTICALLY give yourself to enjoy it and at what time. For example, “Monday at 3:00 PM” All-day Monday is not realistic!
  3. Follow-through and do it!
